  • A match shall consist of the best two-out –of-three games. The third game shall not be played unless it is necessary to do so to determine the winner of the match. Officials • There will be two Varsity referees per match, two matches/night. • Home team provides scorekeeper (adult), line judges (players from other team), and referee pay checks ($12.50 per match). If the assigned referee is not able to make the match, they are responsible to call for a sub.

  The substitute referee needs to call the office of the home school a day in advance to report the change so a correct check may be made out. • Meadow Hill 542-4045, Porter 542-4060, Washington 542-4085 • Referees need to report to the school office at 3:45 (or earlier) to pick up their pay check. Players and Substitutes • Bus transportation is one way – to the game only. • All players must have a signed athletic waiver on file. • Procedure for substitution – After the official’s recognition of a request, each substitute shall immediately move to the sideline between the attack line and the centerline of that team\'s playing area.

  The substitute may report to the umpire her number and the number of the player being replaced. A team is allowed 18 substitutions per game. With a second whistle, the referee will direct the starting players to the net for the hand shake. The teams proceed counter clockwise along the net and then take their positions on the court.

  • At the end of the first game, the referee directs the players to their respective end lines and then signals for the teams to change courts.
